Gayarre, Sebastian Julian

Sebastian Julian Gayarre Garjon (1844-1890), better know as Julian Gayarre, Spanish opera singer. He studied at the Madrid Royal Conservatory, later continued studying at the Milan Conservatory, made his operatic debut in 1869 in Vareese. He sang a broad repertoire, ranging from bel canto works to the earlier music by Wagner, he also sang great success in Verdi's operas. There have been several Spanish films based on his life.
