Gluck, Christoph Willibald

Christoph Willibald Gluck(1714-1787), German composer, studied music in Prague and then served as a organist at the Tyn Church, went to Milan and started composing operas in Italian style, traveled to London, Dresden, Bohemia, Hamburg, finally settled in Vienna. He was as Konzertmeister in the court of Imperial Prince. He composed operas(Orfeo et Euridyce, Iphigenie en Aulide etc), symphonies, and songs.
